Turin DF64 Cast Lab Sweet / Red Speed Coated SSP Burrs V3
The SSP Cast Lab Sweet burrs have a geometry which are similar to the Ditting 807 Lab Sweet grinder. These burrs are designed to provide both sweet and complex flavor profiles, as well as a fair amount of body (viscosity) which can be more difficult to obtain with traditional fully machined burrs. This style of burr tends to work better for light and medium roasted coffees. Very oily coffee beans are not recommended.
NOTE: Espresso Outlet DOES NOT recommend the Cast Lab Sweet burrs for espresso. Manufacturer states that they can be used for espresso, but we do not recommend as they are difficult to dial in. We do not accept returns on after market burrs.
These Cast Lab Sweet burrs are designed to deliver an optimal particle size and ground distribution to create not only a consistent extraction, but also to add more sweetness to the cup. Cast burrs were originally created for drip extractions, but have recently become much more popular for espresso.
SSP’s burrs are designed to last a lifetime using tool steel and coated with Red Speed Titanium Aluminum Carbon Nitride (TiAICN). On average SSP burrs have been able to grind over 10,000 pounds of coffee before needing replaced.
SSP 64mm Cast Lab Sweet burr set increases grind speed and the extraction quality. They are designed for the Turin DF64, Turin DF64V, Mazzer Super Jolly, and many other 64mm "Mazzer" hole pattern grinders.
